NSCDC set up special agro ranger unit in Bayelsa
In a bid to halt the destruction of lives and properties especially in the Agricultural sector, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Bayelsa state command has set up a special Armed squad called Agro Ranger Unit.
The Unit according to the command is geared with the responsibility of ensuring peaceful coexistence between oil multinationals, peasant farmers and fishermen in the state.
Addressing security agents and farmers, the special adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on security matters and the state NSCDC commandant said the unit is to create a conducive atmosphere for all.
Some newly promoted officers who were decorated during the occasion promised to live up to expectation in their new positions.
The occasion witnessed a drama session to showcase the activities of Agro rangers in protecting farmers in their community.
